Uniforms
As previously stated, all Meridian students must wear proper attire. At The Meridian School , it is important that our students are well dressed, smart and presentable during both on and off campus activities. Student personal grooming and appearance is essential. This dress code policy has been implemented to ensure that all students are appropriately dressed at all times . If you are unsure of what your child ought to wear, please visit our website at www.themeridianschool.com .
Please be advised that effective immediately, children who are not in correct uniform, will not be permitted to attend class.
Sick Children
Be sure to carefully monitor your children for illnesses. Too often we are finding it necessary to phone parents to come and collect children who have runny noses, coughs etc. Please be considerate of your children's classmates and teachers. If your child is not well, keep him/her at home until he/she is completely better. This reduces the incidences of reoccurring illness. We make an enormous effort to maintain a safe, healthy environment for our children. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
Dollar for Duds
Friday, 3 rd March is Dollar for Duds Day. Your children are allowed to dress in clothing of their choice in exchange for a dollar.
Parent Teacher Conference

There is no school or after care on this day .

Policy Forum on Early Childhood Development
I have been invited to participate in a high level policy forum in Kingston, Jamaica, 22 nd -23 rd March, to explore and examine the contribution that quality early childhood programming can make to critical developmental priorities. The objectives of the forum are to: § examine the relationships between quality early childhood programming and priority development concerns; and § devise strategies in which key partners in the development process can collaborate to advance early childhood programming as a priority development strategy in the region.
The Forum will bring together approximately 65 participants, including government representatives from finance and planning and education, with representatives from chambers of commerce in the CARICOM region, civil society and business and private sector organizations.
It will consist of presentations and roundtable discussions led by renowned early childhood and economic experts from the region and around the world, including the 2000 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences, James J. Heckman, PhD.
I look forward to a productive trip
