April, 2006

Dear Meridian Family,

Thank you to all the children who performed at the funeral service for Faith Mackey on the 18 th of March.  Our choir received a warm welcome by the congregation and many compliments on their behavior during the service.  It was a very difficult day for the children, however, they demonstrated maturity and sensitivity throughout the service.  Our prayers are with Faith's family during this very sad time.

I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Matthew Sweeting “Island Preacha” for speaking to our students during the Junior School Friday morning assembly after Faith's death.  Matthew explained the biblical perspective on death and dying.  I felt this was necessary as many of our students had never experienced the death of a loved one.  Understandably, they had many questions. By the end of the assembly, all of their questions were answered, and many of their fears alleviated.
